For the February 2012 issue of Interview Germany, model Ilva Hetmann stars in this ‘Electric Kool-Aid Acid’ editorial shot by Markus Pritzi. In the shoot they use, the now uber-hot, ‘huming mapping’ technique to project these patterns onto the model.

The technique was also seen, earlier this month, in the editorial/film “The Day The World Went Away” photographed and directed by Pierre Debusschere and styled by Melina Nicolaide for the Under/Current magazine issue, featuring models Yannick Abrath and Yumi. This beautiful video was produced by 254forest.

Naughty Boulangerie

If a flustered mum shoos her kids away from the window of this innocent boulangerie, the cause might be novelty male genitalia bread on display at Paris’s gay pâtissier. Yes, le Marais has an X-rated bakery, run by the two Legay (kid you not) brothers, although only one bats for the team.

Richard Legay, the gay one, and his brother Didier, straight, set up shop on the gay main drag of Le Marais in 2001 and have since done a roaring trade catering to the daily carb needs of the quartier with flair. Disco bunny sales staff with club kid-sharp haircuts serve, and the window displays sport riotously camp themes; the orientation of the establishment is very out. But while they might gay-up the bread stick, quality control ensures that clients are from all walks of life – not just pink people.

Aside from Baguettes Magiques (“Magic Wands”) and Cheeky Dough Boy Genitalia, the brothers specialise in the richest, thickest tarts crammed with the sweetest stodge. Flavours run from pistachio to blackcurrant teamed with the more pedestrian apricot and apple. The pain aux raisins is a gooey confection and a savoury favourite is the Baton Savoyard – a very generous cheese stick and perfect snack on the go for just one euro.

My favorite ? Le Chocola Zizi Choc :)

Cuddling up with Alex and Irina for Aubin & Wills

This is about them, Irina Lazareanu and Alex James (of Blur). They simply make me want to cuddle up with them in that perfect storm of morning glory, with crispy sheets, messy hair, soft guitar sounds, fresh drafts from the garden, warm rays of light, the smell of a dusty book, wearing cotton and having a cup of Earl Grey.

A sweet ride into the 50′s with Prada’s spring/summer 2012 campaign

“Sweetness.” Miuccia Prada’s summation of her new collection was surprisingly direct. But only she could add a contrary gloss to an idea that, on the surface at least, seemed entirely benign. She’d been trying to wrap her head around this paradox: Why should a quality that the world at large considers such an asset to womanhood be so shunned by the fashion industry? That state of affairs is unlikely to prevail for much longer, given the crazy level of influence Miuccia wields over fashion (her dropped waists from Fall are other designers’ big statement for Spring). So better ready yourself to Celebrate the Sweet.

Except no one else will be able to do it quite like this. Italian men have two meaningful relationships in their lives: women and cars. Miuccia put the two together—women in cars—and situated them in a moment in time (maybe the last such) when the world was awash with unambiguous hope for the future. That would be the 1950′s. If the Prada men’s collection for Spring was haunted by the ghost of Elvis, its female counterpart paraded echoes of Marilyn in her accordion-pleated dress from The Seven Year Itch. The models did walk over a subway grate, but it was unfortunately technically impossible to provide the updraft that would have gusted skirts skyward in a re-creation of one of Hollywood’s most iconic movie moments.

There were, however, other, equally resonant ways for Miuccia to make her point. The celluloid iconography was irresistible: B-movie roadhouse gals in bandeau tops and leather pencil skirts that had been customized by their spray-painting mechanic boyfriends; David Lynch heroines in varsity jackets and sunray pleats; rhinestone cowgirls in studded Baracutas. If the sweetness in such tough cookies was a little elusive, Miuccia also offered coats in lace or crochet in palest pink and blue and bathing suits that begged for pinup poses round the pool at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Plus, the adorable print theme from the men’s collection took an automotive turn. At the very least, Italian manhood will be happy. But the rest of the world should feel just as uplifted when the double whammy of Prada menswear and womenswear hits stores next spring. Dare you not to smile.

Later this month, MTV will put both videos in rotation on 120 Minutes. “I am part of a generation that grew up with MTV, and obviously with music, and having it all work together made it a really fun project,” Wang said.

Watch out for Stine Riis, the Global winner of the H&M Design Award 2012

Stine Riis is the 28-year-old winner of the H&M Design Award 2012. She recently graduated from London College of Fashion, and is currently living in Copenhagen. Stating the jury’s thoughts: “Her amazing sense of colour and construction has impressed us since the first time we saw her back at the London judging. I love the way she has travelled reflects the international aspect of the H&M Design Award. Fashion no longer has any borders!”

Inspiration at the moment?
English sculptor Thomas Houseago, Guy Bourdin, Vilhelm Hammershøi, Finn Juhl & Wegner.

Less is more, or the more the merrier?
Less is more, definitely. Being Danish, I have the legacy of Wegner, Finn Juhl, Thorvaldsen and Hammershøi to rely on.

What’s your favorite scent?
Philosykos by Diptyque, it smells like a fig tree and reminds me of summer.

Favorite thing to draw while talking on the phone?
Usually I walk in circles when I’m on the phone, just can’t sit still. If I happen to have a pen and a paper in front of me, I draw all sorts of patterns with squares and triangles.

First item you designed.
I think it was a hat that I sewed on my mother’s sewing machine when I was seven years old. I used foam and fabric and the shape was quite odd. It wasn’t nice, but definitely different.

Stine wins 50.000€ and the chance to have chosen pieces sold in selected H&M stores later in the year. Dutch designer Anne Bosman is the winner of the H&M Design Award 2012 People’s Prize and will be given an internship for one month at Christopher Kane’s Studio in London.

Test Tube Chandelier by Pani Jurek

Polish designer Pani Jurek likes to design objects that are not only functional but also engage the users in an interactive way. This test tube chandelier does just that by allowing each person to use the vessels as they see fit. Here Jurek suggests using them as vases or inserting different colors of dye to create some kind of color wheel, but really the possibilties are endless. People collect all kinds of small, weird things and this is a great way of displaying them.
